Springtime

The college football season has ended and WJD will not dwell on what may have been, but will instead turn our attentions from purple to red. Spring training is little more than a month away, and preparations have already begun for this year's annual pilgrimage. Pitchers and catchers are due to report February 15, and the Angels have extended invitations to twenty-one non roster players to the newly-remodeled spring training facilities in Tempe, AZ.

Of course, in addition to Tempe, we were planning to visit Tucson Electric Park, but those plans fell through. Although our itinerary remains unconfirmed, we may also be visiting Hi Corbett Field but that also has yet to be confirmed.

The Rocky Mountain News speculates that Jeff may be signed to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training. The Rockies may also extend a similar offer to former Angel Scott Spiezio. No matter how many times Scott was asked about his infamous game six home run, he always answered graciously and treated the fans like gold. I wish him well.

Angel spring training tickets at Tempe Diablo Stadium go on sale Saturday, January 14 @ 10am.
