Watching Jeff DaVanon

Watching Jeff DaVanon

A weblog devoted to #55 of the Anaheim Angels, Jeff DaVanon. How is he doing? Is he getting his due respect yet? Let's watch and see...

That's my boy!

There was much happiness on Saturday when Jeff got hits, made plays, hustled, layed down a perfect bunt, and generally rocked the house. Blip or return to normal Jeff action? Who can say right now.

And then he was sent back to the bench so we could watch Juan Rivera generally stink up the place and (unbelievably) pick a fight with Figgins. Why pick a fight with the Golden Boy Savior of the Angels? You'll have to ask Juan that. Why sit Jeff when he is on a streak? Because the pitchers were all Lefty and as we all know, Jeff is not thought of as a strong right batter.

We got to see Prieto. I kept thinking "why didn't they call up Pride?" Free Curtis Pride!

Grrr.

In other news, people have recently come to my blog looking for the Casey Kotchman fan club. Look elsewhere. And honestly, I think you might need to start that one yourself.

Bad moment of Sunday's game... when they send in Kevin Gregg and even with a huge lead I'm convinced he'll manage to screw it up. Kevin Gregg is not someone I'm happy to have on the team right now. Good moment of Sunday's game? Realizing that if Kevin is pitching on Sunday he won't be starting this week.

Comments:
Couldn't agree with you more about Kevin Gregg! I don't want him to have earned the official John Lackey "Guaranteed- Never-To-Return-To-AAA-No-Matter-What" treatment. Send the guy down, get him some work, and get us somebody who can throw strikes and keep a lead from becoming a blow-out! That game against Cleveland yesterday was brutal!

I appreciate anyone who is a big enough fan of the Angels to start a site like this--even if your fav player is someone I'm not too keen on. (Although I'd rather see Jeff in there than Juan Rivera or Chris Prieto. Ick.) Rock on, Maya!

PS: Really enjoyed the Spring Training pics. Wish I could've been there.
